JUST BECAUSE

Because You love me Jesus,
Grace overflows my soul,
You blot out my offenses,
Your Spirit makes me whole.

Because I love You Jesus,
In sorrow’s bitter scourge,
Your strength is mine to lean on,
And cleave to in life’s surge.

Because I love You Jesus,
I want to walk in truth,
To labor in Your vineyard,
And yield abundant fruit.

Because You love me Jesus,
The power to succeed,
Is mine because You will supply,
All the grace I need.

Because I love You Jesus,
In You my soul finds rest,
Your little sparrow is at home,
Nestled at Your breast.

ABIDE IN MY LOVE

When the storm is at its fiercest,
When the winter clouds lie low,
When summer’s but a memory,
The sun has lost its glow.

When prayer seems but a burden,
When God seems out of sight,
When every fear looms eerily,
Doubt grimly stalks the night.

When hope has lost conviction,
When old memories stir grief,
When prayer becomes a struggle,
Faith grants but scant relief.

The Word leaps down from heaven,
To calm the raging sea,
“Abide in Me” He whispers,
“My love will set you free.”

On the Wings of Prayer

 All I need is silence,
A heart quiescent and still,
Submitting to Your Spirit,
I gladly yield my will.
Under His direction,
Light and truth are shed,
I gain understanding,
As Your Sacred Word is read.
He sets aflame my senses,
He vivifies my soul,
He breathes new life into me,
My joyous spirit soars.
Ascending to Mount Zion,
I rise on eagle’s wings,
Worshiping the Father,

And exalting You my King.

YOUR SPIRIT OF LOVE

Send Your Spirit on me Lord,
As soft as morning dew,
As gentle as a summer rain,
Refresh, revive, renew.

When my human spirit ,
Is too weak He’ll pray and plead,
With moans and groans too deep for words,
He’ll sigh and intercede.

Your Holy Spirit guarantees,
To grant the grace I need,
To stay in fellowship with You,
As I live out the Creed.

There is no greater gift than this,
That God abides in me,
And through Your Holy Spirit
Loves me ineffably.

A CONDUIT OF GRACE (The Sacrament of Matrimony)

A CONDUIT OF GRACE
(Sacramental Marriage)

Too often it’s been found that love,
No matter how sublime,
Cools the heat of ardor,
When ill winds bear testing times.

Neither pledge nor promise,
Nor plighting troth suffice,
To love, honor and cherish,
Without self sacrifice.

Love comes with no guarantees,
That present bliss won’t pale,
As the cross grows heavier,
Marriage vows can flail.

If God is not a witness to,
The oaths the two will swear,
Wedding vows are easily,
Renounced should either err.

The dreary drag of custom,
Can douse the keenest blaze,
Hence this wondrous Sacrament,
Is Christ’s conduit of grace.

HIS LITTLE LAMP OF CLAY

Created by the Potter,
This little lamp of clay,
Though worn and chipped in places,
Is put to use each day.

With oil He fills me daily,
He sets the wick alight,
I falter first and flicker,
Then steadily burn bright.

The glow I know is feeble,
But constant is its stream,
With light sufficient just to take,
A step in its soft beam.

Light enough for just one step,
With perfect confidence,
To fill the jar and trim the lamp,
I trust His Providence.

The time will come when oil and wick,
Will finally be spent,
My little light will die on earth,
To reignite in heaven.

GOD'S DIVINE TOUCH

Divinity is tangible,
In every Sacrament,
God touches man thru’ Christ His Son,
In His New Covenant.

The Sacraments alone provide,
The strength our spirit needs,
To overcome temptation as,
We live each day the Creed.

At Baptism the Gifts received,
Help us encounter Christ,
No longer slaves to sin we walk,
As children of the Light.

Empowered by God's Spirit,
Let us run the race,
So when our life comes to a close,
We’ll meet Christ face to face.

WILL YOU TRUST ME?

Will you trust Me,
When life seems an endless winter?
Will you trust Me,
Knowing not what lies ahead?
Will you trust Me,
When you do not sense My Presence?
Will you trust Me,
Though you fail to comprehend?

Will you trust Me,
When I tell you, "Be not troubled?
Will you trust Me,
When I say, “Be not afraid?”
Will you trust Me,
Believing all have failed you?
Will you trust Me,
As you drink vinegar and gall?

I will because,
Your Word dwells richly in me.
I will because,
Your promises are true.
I will because,
You have appointed angels,
To ensure no harm,
Shall draw near me.

I believe I dwell
In Your heart loving Jesus.
I believe because my home
Is on Your breast.
I believe that neither
Snake, nor wolf, nor dragon,
Would dare approach me
While I tarry there.

MY LORD AND MY GOD - Psalm 59 : 17-19

17 But I will sing of your might;  in the morning I will sing of your love.
For you have been a fortress to me,  a refuge in time of distress.
18 O my Strength, I will sing praises to you, for you, O God, are my stronghold;
you are a loving  God.
I will sing your praises Lord,
My strength, my shield, my guide,
My God You are my Stronghold,
My Fortress, my Delight.

In times of tribulation,
To You my voice I've raised,
In You I found safe harbor,
You heard each time I prayed.

With just a word You bid the storms,
To cease and they were stilled,
God's solemn vow to live in me,
Through You has been fulfilled.

I shelter 'neath Your mighty wings,
And laugh just like a child,
Who knows no fear for Love is near,
And in Love’s heart abides.
