MY HEART’S DELIGHT

You O Lord are everything,
My soul could e’er desire,
It’s you I pine for every hour,
Your love sets me on fire.
You satisfy my hunger,
You quench my spirit’s thirst,
Encompass me that I in You,
Be utterly immersed.

Each sunrise at God’s table,
With the Eucharist I’m fed,
I eat the Bread of Angels,
At the Banquet You have spread.
I’ll cleave to You Beloved,
We two will be as one,
The sinner will be wedded,
A spell to God’s own Son.

When eventide will dim the sky,
And nighttide curtains fall,
I’ll ponder every blessing,
As Your mercies I recall.
My eyes will close in slumber,
But my heart awake will stay,
To worship and adore You,
Until the break of day.

JUST BECAUSE

Because You love me Jesus,
Grace overflows my soul,
You blot out my offenses,
Your Spirit makes me whole.

Because I love You Jesus,
In sorrow’s bitter scourge,
Your strength is mine to lean on,
And cleave to in life’s surge.

Because I love You Jesus,
I want to walk in truth,
To labor in Your vineyard,
And yield abundant fruit.

Because You love me Jesus,
The power to succeed,
Is mine because You will supply,
All the grace I need.

Because I love You Jesus,
In You my soul finds rest,
Your little sparrow is at home,
Nestled at Your breast.

GOD ALONE - A PSALM OF LONGING

O Lord You are my God,
It's You I long for.
O Lord You are my God,
You're all I need.
Fill me, Lord, I pray,
With Your sweet Presence.
Come fill my life anew,
With light and grace.

It's You alone who are,
My cup and portion.
You alone can slake
The thirst within.
Call and I will hasten,
To Your Presence
 Imbued by Love,
At last eternally.

NOTHING MORE AND NOTHING LESS

Jesus lowers Himself in His entirety to come into my heart as food for my soul so my love for Him is not exaggerated in the light of His love for me. - Myra

I want nothing more than Jesus,
Give me nothing less than Him,
All I ask is all of Jesus,
Other pleasures now grow dim.
Having tasted of His goodness,
Nothing satisfies my soul,
I implore You give me Jesus,
He alone can make me whole.

Grant me naught but all of Jesus,
Is the only prayer I pray,
“Ask,” You said, “It shall be given,”
All I ask is Christ today.
Satisfy the zeal of longing,
At the Fount of Love whose Name,
Can enkindle holy fire,
Ardor burns to living flame.

Yes I know that I am nothing,
And audacious I may seem,
Some may call my fervor foolish,
Deeming me much too extreme.
Yet it’s God who loves me madly,
Stooping in humility,
As mere Bread descending in me,
Body, Soul, Divinity.

God's Little Nothing

Created out of nothing,
He called me by my name,
Blowing on a flicker
And urging it to flame.
God has shaped and moulded,
My body made of clay,
Grafting me to Jesus
So I ‘d never want to stray.

God took this little nothing,
And breathed in me new life,
He took this little trifle,
Conforming me to Christ.
I am God’s little zero,
Sinner though I be,
The Lord of earth and heaven
Says He’s Daddy God to me.

When grief unmitigated,
Had cast a bitter blight,
When agony and loss had left,
A void bereft of light,
In silence and surrender,
My God stooped tenderly,
And touched His little nothing,
In profound simplicity.

I know I am His nothing,
And all He’s given me,
Is not because I’ve earned it,
Nor is it destiny.
All is purely largesse,
On my Father’s part,
He says His tiny zero,
Delights His loving heart.

SAFE IN HIS ARMS

Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Serenely silent and still,
Just like a child that is weaned my soul,
Quietly rests in His will.

When troubles arise to assail me,
The storm can fall where it may,
Safe in the arms of Jesus,
I know that I cannot stray.

I call on the Name of Jesus,
When I find I’m lost and alone
Foolishly floundering deep in sin,
I call and He carries me home.

I snuggle closer to Jesus,
When sorrow tears me apart,
He wipes away the tears from my eyes,
And turns my face to His Heart.

Safe in the arms of Jesus,
There’s no place I’d rather be,
His Heart my haven and harbor,
Heaven is Jesus for me.

YOU ALONE MY LORD

You alone fill all my deepest longings,
You stir my soul awake at break of day,
You raise my heart to heaven every morning,
My senses come alive as You hold sway.

I gaze at You in silent adoration,
My heart is set ablaze as gaze meets gaze,
Come Beloved, make Your tabernacle,
In my soul where I will sing your praise.

I muse about You in the sunlit hours,
I call to mind Your Name at night and pray,
I close my eyes and all the while I whisper,
Grateful thanks to You at close of day.

You alone can satisfy my longings,
No other love with Yours can be replaced,
I know, because I’ve wandered in dark places,
Counterfeit all love when it’s misplaced.

Call my name when day is done Beloved,
It matters not when that dear hour may be,
I am awake my Lord and I am ready,
To be espoused with You eternally.

I BELONG TO JESUS

I belong to Jesus, and He belongs to me,
I belong to Jesus, the Christ who set me free.
I belong to Jesus, my Savior and my Lord,
I belong to Him who is, the only Son of God.

I am His and He is mine, Beloved of my soul,
I am His and He is mine, in Him I am made whole.
He tells me I am precious, and the wonder of it all,
Is that my God has loved me, long before the fall.

Love it was that sent the Son, since love alone could pay,
The price for the redemption, of this vessel made of clay.
Amazing love with arms outstretched, upon a cruel cross,
Bartering His life for mine, He bled and paid the cost.

On the scale of perfect love, this sinner's life was placed,
In the balance it was weighed, with His measureless grace,
He has made provision, for me to have a share,
In the Father’s Kingdom, I am made co-heir.

MY KING

There’s joy in my heart,
I am wearing a grin,
A fire is glowing,
I’m lit from within.

My body His temple,
He’s my Royal Guest,
The Lord of creation,
In me finds His rest.

He moves me to laughter,
He calms all my fears,
When sorrow is welling,
He dries up my tears.

My name He has carved,
On the palm of His hand,
To Him I am precious,
I am His to command.

The treasures of heaven,
Are given to me,
Co-heir to God’s Kingdom,
I am royalty.
