It is enough for me,
That in sublime humility,
Stooping sweet and low,
God descends into my soul,
In the Holy Eucharist.
I need nothing more
Than this.
He calms the raging tempest,
As He sates the yearning,
In my body, heart and soul.
The Food that I receive,
Has power to assuage,
my deepest hunger,
Slake my raging thirst.
I drink from springs,
Of living water,
Flowing from His wounded side,
And then I lie,
In cool green meadows
With my God who satisfies.
This is why
At every Eucharist,
When I have fed
On Bread,
Made of the finest wheat
And drunk the Wine,
Sweeter still than honey
In the comb,
In ecstatic bliss,
I cry,
"It is enough!
I ask no more
Than this."
He is enough,
He always is,
Jesus Christ,
In the Holy Eucharist.
